Two participants each day go head to head in the final 'Dueling Chef' competition held at the Windsor and Downtown Loveland Farmers' Market. As we wind down the Farmers' Market season for 2007, come and join us for the wildly successful "Dueling Chef" competition, music, and a great time!

DIRECTIONS: Windsor Main Street to 11th St. Take 11th Street north approximately 3 blocks - turn left (west) into Community Recreation Center (which is across from Windsor High School)
WINDSOR CHEF PARTICIPANTS:
Windsor's very own Chef Victoria Queen, owned and operated catering businesses for 5 years, and in August 2005, opened and operates a very successful 40-seat restaurant (Caffe Victoria) for the past two years. Serving a wide variety of cuisine, focusing on breakfast and lunches, she brings a unique, fun flair to this week's competition.

Windsor's Chef Florian Wehrli was born in Le Locle, Switzerland, and won the best Apprentice of Switzerland in 1997. That gave him the opportunity to represent Switzerland in the Best Apprentice of Europe competition. Florian opened a small restaurant named Chimney Park Bistro in Windsor, CO in January 2004. His creations feature the freshest local ingredients and his dishes have been recognized all over the state of Colorado in several magazines and reviews. Establishing relationships with local farmers, ranchers, cheese makers and more has been his passion to ensure unprecedented quality.

LOCATION: The Loveland Farmers' Market (downtown) 5th & Cleveland (aka. the Elk's Lodge aka the same location as the Corn Roast Festival).
DIRECTIONS: Directions: From I-25 go west on Hwy 34 (aka. Eisenhower), to Hwy 287 (aka. Cleveland Ave.), south on Cleveland Ave to 5th Street. Right (West) and go 1 blocks. Farmers' Market is held in the south parking lot.
LOVELAND CHEF PARTICIPANTS:
Fort Collins' Carousel Dinner Theatre's Chef Jim who brings a unique, fast paced creativity and experience to the competition. (word on the street is that Chef Jim is bringing his own "fan club" to cheer him on.)

The rules are simple...
Each Chef participant is given $20 in 'Market Bucks' to spend solely at the Farmers' Market. They can shop from when the market opens. They must create at least two courses to feed a family of 4 to 6 in only 30 minutes with their actual cooking clock starting as appoiunted above. There will be three judges who will critique based on presentation, creativity, taste, etc. Each participant is allowed to bring a simple pantry with them, which may include a maximum of 10 items such as: salt, pepper, cream, olive oil, an egg, etc. so that they can unleash their creativity. The will bring their own pots, pans, cutting board, etc.
Here's what our two participants (and all Market Goers) can currently find at our Farmers' Market: the freshest in local vegetables now in season (including beets, bell peppers, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, cucumbers, egg plant, garlic, green beans, green onions, herbs (basil, cilantro, baby dill), kohlrabi, leaf lettuce (green, red, romaine), onions, pickles, potatoes, radishes, summer squash, sweet corn, tomatoes, turnips, zucchini and more.)
